On September 14, 2022, a passenger passed away onboarding Kenya Airways (KQ) aircraft KQ612 from Nairobi to Mombasa due to “breathing troubles,” the airline stated in a tweet.
“The passenger was pronounced dead by medical personnel at JKIA (Jomo Kenyatta International Airport) while the aircraft was still on the ground,” the airline said, adding that “JKIA Heath and Security agencies are currently handling the issue”.
Third passenger death in four weeks
The airline has confirmed three fatalities in the last four weeks following incidents involving two foreign flights and one domestic flight. There is no evidence, though, to imply that any of the deaths were brought on by the flights.
