The Bombardier CRJ-900LR with the registration C-GJFZ was scheduled to go from Boston Logan International Airport to Pearson International Airport as flight AC8695. But because of the collision with the tug, the plane was grounded in Boston.
According to Jazz Aviation, it runs that trip for Air Canada and under the Air Canada Express name. A spokesman for the company stated:
“A ground service vehicle rolled into the nose of the aircraft while the aircraft was parked at the gate in Boston. Maintenance is inspecting the aircraft to determine if there is any damage. As a precaution, the aircraft has been taken out of service and the flight has been canceled. An investigation is underway to determine how this incident occurred.”
The incident did not result in any injuries, and an investigation has been opened to determine what caused it.
