On June 5, 2022, a Ryanair Boeing 737 was blocking the runway of Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) for several hours, causing flights to be delayed and diverted.
After landing, the plane remained on the runway. It arrived from Ibiza at 11:29 a.m. GMT, according to Flightradar24 (IBZ).
Passengers who witnessed the landing described it as “very heavy,” followed by a “very abrupt stop,” according to Metro.
According to Leeds Live and other local media outlets, the plane had a tire burst and was stuck on the runway for several hours.
Three planes have been diverted to different airports as a result of the landing, according to Flightradar24 data, with the next flight landing at LBA at 2:27 pm.
Passengers at LBA took multiple images of the plane being surrounded by firefighting vehicles.
According to a spokeswoman for the LBA, the passengers were uninjured, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
