Beginning April 20, 2022, AirAsia X (AAX) will restart service to South Korea and India.
Flights to Delhi Airport (DEL) will be twice weekly, and flights to Incheon Seoul International Airport (ICN) will be once weekly.
In February 2022, almost two years after the global pandemic halted air travel, the airline resumed its first scheduled passenger routes to Sydney, Australia.
“Now that the world is finally opening up, we are gradually resuming flights to our key markets, starting with Sydney recently and now also to South Korea and India, with more popular destinations to be announced soon,” CEO of AirAsia X Benyamin Ismail said.
The airline, which has no domestic market, has been significantly affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. But after its successful restructuring, the airline has expressed that it can now see “light at the end of this long tunnel”.
In October 2020, AirAsia X, the group’s long-haul unit, unveiled its debt restructuring plan as a way to avoid collapse.
