On its flagship Boeing 777-300 aircraft, Cathay Pacific is getting ready to introduce a brand-new Business Class suite. On Monday, the Hong Kong-based airline published a teaser film featuring a first look at the seat, which it has dubbed “Aria.”
The suite, which takes its name from the term used in music to describe a self-contained composition for a solo voice, will premiere in real life in the second quarter of 2024, but as of yet, Cathay Pacific hasn’t provided any details on how long it might take to actually introduce the seat.
A 40-second video introducing the new suite was broadcast to Cathay Pacific’s social media accounts, but the airline provided no other details to go along with the teaser.
Modern comforts like speedier USB-C charging with slower USB-A charge and Bluetooth headphone connectivity should also be expected by passengers. The airline has not yet officially confirmed the whole feature list for the Aria suite.
According to reports, Cathay Pacific has ordered 21 of the new Boeing 777X, of which the Aria suite was initially intended to debut. Unfortunately, the certification of the 777X, or 777-9 as it is also known, has been delayed for a year. As a result, Cathay Pacific may be bringing forward a refurbishment program for its current fleet.
