Due to the Eid Al Adha holidays and the end of the school year, Dubai Airports has issued a passenger advisory warning travelers that Dubai International (DXB) may become exceptionally busy during the next two weeks.

The operator estimates that between June 24 and July 4, over 2.4 million passengers will transit through DXB, with average daily traffic hitting 214,000 people. With daily traffic topping 235,000 passengers, July 2nd is anticipated to be the biggest day. Over the Eid Al Adha weekend of July 8 and 9, similar traveler numbers are predicted at the airport.

Dubai Airports has urged travelers to follow a few easy tips to avoid the holiday rush even though it is working closely with airlines, control authorities, and commercial and service partners to ensure a smooth airport experience for passengers from the kerb to boarding gates.

Know the most recent travel regulations that apply to the place you’re going, and make sure you have all the required documentation with the appropriate validity before you arrive at the airport.

Children above the age of 12 can use Smart Gates to expedite passport control for individuals traveling with family.

Arrive at the airport no earlier than three hours before takeoff if you are flying from Terminal 1. When possible, check-in online to save time.

Emirates offers easy early and self-service check-in options for passengers departing from Terminal 3.

Time can be significantly reduced at the airport by weighing luggage at home, verifying paperwork ahead, and being ready for security inspections.

To and from the airport, take the Dubai Metro. During the Eid holidays, metro operation hours are extended.

The arrivals forecourt at Terminal 3 is only accessible by public transportation and other authorized cars, therefore friends and families are urged to use the airport’s designated parking lots or valet service to comfortably welcome their guests.

Once at the airport, visitors may take advantage of DXB’s extensive amenities, which include dining options, duty-free shopping, and lounges where they can relax before their flight.

Despite the capacity limitation brought on by the 45-day shutdown of the northern runway for the restoration project, DXB’s performance in the first five months of 2022 has been remarkable.

Forecasts for the year show that DXB will more than quadruple its yearly traffic from 29.1 million passengers in 2021 to 58.7 million passengers this year. The airport had 13.6 million passengers in the first quarter of 2022.
