Emirates and AEGEAN are launching a new codeshare cooperation today, enabling their passengers to travel more conveniently from Athens to eight domestic Greek points using just one ticket.
In order to provide clients a simple and straightforward booking process and a uniform baggage policy to well-known locations including Kerkyra, Chania, Irakleion, Mikonos, Thira, Rhodes, Thessaloniki, and Alexandropoulos, Emirates will place its code on AEGEAN-operated flights.
To provide clients with seamless connections to Dubai and other destinations, AEGEAN will also place its code on Emirates-operated flights between Dubai and Athens under the terms of the codeshare agreement.
Beginning in October 2022, Emirates and AEGEAN will expand their existing codeshare network to add eight more regional flights to and from Europe via Athens, including flights to and from Milan and New York JFK and Newark, respectively, and Bucharest, Belgrade, and Naples.
At the moment, Emirates operates a Boeing 777 on 12 weekly trips to Athens. The required regulatory permits must be obtained before these further codeshare routes can be implemented.
Emirates gives its clients genuine global access across 6 continents through codeshare agreements with more than 26 carriers, 2 rail partners, and 110 interline partners globally.
