On the morning of January 5, 2022, a FedEx Express plane went off an ice taxiway at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT).
At around 9:30 a.m., the incident occurred. The Boeing 767 aircraft was on its way to Memphis, Tennessee, when it slid while it was taxiing for takeoff.

There were no injuries, but the aircraft’s left wing was damaged and it needed to be towed for inspection. The plane also collided with the anemometer at the airport, which measures wind speed.
“The Airport has temporarily closed all runways and taxiways,” the airport tweeted.
“The Airport is actively working to de-ice and sand all surfaces as necessary.”

At around 11:30 a.m., two hours after the incident, the airport resumed normal operations.
On the ground, icy conditions have resulted in road closures in New Hampshire.
By midday on January 5, 2021, state police had attended to at least 46 collisions and spin-outs, and encouraged motorists to exercise additional caution owing to the extreme weather conditions.
