Due to a claimed bomb threat on board, a flydubai Boeing 737 MAX 8 passenger aircraft was forced to divert to Krakow in Poland.
On January 22, 2023, a flydubai Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with the registration A6-FMH was flying the regularly scheduled passenger flight FZ1830 between Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Warsaw, Poland.
Flightradar24.com’s flight history indicates that the aircraft left Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) at 9:00 p.m. local time with an estimated arrival time at Dubai International Airport (DXB) of about five and a half hours later.
The flight crew, however, squawked emergency code “7700” as the aircraft approached crossing Hungary’s northern border before performing an immediate U-turn back towards Slovakia. The aircraft subsequently entered a hold to burn up fuel in preparation for an emergency landing at Poland’s Kraków John Paul II International Airport (KRK).
When the MAX 8 successfully landed at KRK airport at around 6.30 p.m., emergency services hurried to the taxiway to meet it (local time).
