Frontier Airlines, a low-cost airline, is starting a cadet program to train the upcoming Frontier pilots.

Up to 35 students interested in training to be commercial airline pilots will be accepted each month into the program, which is run in collaboration with ATP Flight School. No prior aviation experience is necessary.

The program will last about 24 months, and cadets will get help applying for financial aid to help with training and living costs. Participants will receive certain Frontier perks during the program’s run.

“This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who has ever dreamed of becoming a commercial airline pilot,” said Brad Lambert, Vice President of Flight Operations, Frontier Airlines.

“We are putting this program in place to not only train future pilots but to help them overcome the barriers to entry people may encounter when trying to pursue an aviation career. We are thrilled to embark on this journey that will lead us to a new generation of Frontier Airlines pilots.”

Cadets need to be at least 19 years old, open to moving, and have background check clear. Although not necessary, an associate’s degree or above is preferable.

Prior to becoming a Frontier pilot, participants must pass all essential exams and receive all required certificates. Their progress will be tracked throughout the program.

A comprehensive academic training experience will be created through partnerships with aviation university programs.
