Authorities say a belligerent passenger was arrested after causing chaos on a flight to South Florida.
The situation deteriorated to the point where flight attendants had to duct tape the passenger to his seat.
Maxwell Berry, 22, is seen on cell phone film being duct-taped to the back of a seat on Saturday’s Frontier flight from Philadelphia to Miami, where he was arrested on three counts of violence by awaiting officers.
Berry is also seen arguing with a male flight attendant and spewing profanities while seated in a window seat in the footage. According to the police report, Berry ordered two drinks, then requested another before brushing his empty cup against the backside of a female flight attendant.
According to the police report, the flight attendant warned Berry to “don’t touch me” before he began complaining about his gum, which he wrapped in a napkin.
Berry then spilled his new beverage over his shirt, leading him to go to the bathroom and emerge “shirtless,” according to the account. According to authorities, he then strolled around the plane for around 15 minutes before grabbing the chests of two flight attendants.
According to the arrest report, “he came from behind and placed his arm over both of them and touched their breasts again.”
According to the police report, Berry later attacked a male flight attendant who was requested to keep an eye on him after the in-flight disturbance.
During the altercation, a passenger made “inappropriate physical contact” with a flight attendant and assaulted another, according to Frontier Airlines.
“As a result, the customer had to be detained until the flight arrived in Miami and law authorities arrived,” Frontier Airlines said in a statement to WPLG. “The flight attendants will be relieved of flying, as required in such situations, until the investigation into the events is completed.”
