A Belavia flight from Minsk to Antalya, Turkey, has changed course and will land at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport, a source in the aviation industry informed Sputnik on Monday.

A Belavia Boeing 737 flight from Minsk to Antalya has landed safely at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport, according to a representative for the emergency services on July 26. Because a pressure fault sensor on board was triggered, the plane changed course and headed to Russia’s capital.

Earlier in the day, media reports said that the Boeing 737 transmitted a distress call near the Russian city of Voronezh and intended to make an emergency landing there.

“The aircraft is en route to Domodedovo for a faster resolution of the technical issues,” a source added.
“On board, there are 197 passengers and 7 crew members,” the insider continued.

The plane’s flight altitude was approximately 2,500 meters, according to the website Flightradar24. It’s been in the air for about two hours.

The Belavia plane traveled around Ukraine, then went northeast after transmitting a distress signal. The plane initially headed for Voronezh, but due to a lack of fuel, it reversed direction and headed for Moscow.

The Belarusian Embassy in Moscow stated that it is prepared to assist passengers when the Belavia plane arrived at Domodedovo airport.
