INCIDENT Gulf Air Airbus A321 has been evacuated in Kuwait

After a minor mishap, a Gulf Air Airbus A321 was evacuated on a taxiway upon landing at Kuwait International Airport.

On July 5, the Airbus A321-231 with the registration A9C-CB was flying GF215 from Bahrain International Airport (BAH) to Kuwait International Airport (KWI).

The plane took taxiway W5 to exit runway 33L, where an emergency evacuation was started. The plane had a total of 67 persons on board, including 7 crew members. During the evacuation, no one was hurt. They were escorted into the terminal safely.

The plane took off from Bahrain International Airport at 16:33 for a short journey to Kuwait, arriving at 17:23 local time.

The cause of the event is unknown, and the airline is working with local authorities to figure it out. Upon landing, one of the engines was said to have caught fire.
