According to officials, a flight from Newark Liberty International Airport to Buffalo made an emergency landing in Rochester on Sunday owing to a gasoline leak.
According to United, pilots on GoJetAirlines flight 4583, which was flying as United Express, “encountered a probable fuel imbalance” and chose to divert to Greater Rochester International Airport, roughly 60 miles east of the plane’s destination.
According to United, the Canadair CRJ-550 took off from Newark at 4:26 p.m. and landed in Rochester at 7:10 p.m. It was supposed to arrive in Buffalo at 5:44 p.m.
The source of the leak in one of the plane’s wings was not immediately determined.
