Aer Caribe Antonov An-26’s right-wing was severely damaged after its ring wingtip collided with the ground during a low-level fly-by.

When the top of the aircraft’s right wing collided with the runway while banking along the runway at Mitu Airport in Colombia, it was executing an extraordinarily high-speed, low-altitude pass. A few minutes later, the pilots made a safe landing.

In the incident, the Antonov An-26, with civil registration HK-4730, was involved. It was constructed in 1980 and is now 41 years old.
