On September 2, 2022, Ita Airways received its first Airbus A220-300 (EI-HHI).
The new type is now in revenue service following crew training. On October 16, domestic flight AZ1383 operated by EI-HHI from Rome to Genoa was the first commercial flight.
On October 16, 2022, Rome-Fiumicino began offering scheduled flights to Geneva and Zurich. The first international flight, EI-HHJ, flew from Rome to Geneva, then from there back to Zurich (top).
The airline also stated:
The newcomer will be operational between Rome, Milan Linate, Genoa, Turin, Naples, Geneva, Zurich, and Munich.
