After an internal review at the airline, Ryanair fired its Chief Pilot.
According to a report by the Irish business news portal The Currency, the airline’s Chief People Officer (CPO), Darrell Hughes, distributed an internal note to staff members on June 14, 2023, stating that the internal investigation discovered the chief pilot had a “pattern of repeated inappropriate and unacceptable behavior toward a number of female junior pilots.”
According to the Irish source, Ryanair started looking into the incident three weeks ago after receiving a memo from one of its staff members. Additionally, the Irish Airline Pilots’ Association (IALPA) is apparently in contact with its union members who work for the airline and was informed of the issue.
According to Reuters, the airline let go of the employee since he had worked for Ryanair since 2020, and the Chief Pilot was fired on June 13, 2023, with immediate effect.
