On June 5, 2023, Star Alliance declared that Theo Panagiotoulias has been chosen to serve as its next CEO.
Panagiotoulias, who was born in Australia, is moving from Hawaiian Airlines where he served as vice president of global alliances and sales, to Star Alliance.
Over the years, Panagiotoulias has held a variety of other managerial positions in the commercial aviation sector.
Prior to joining Hawaiian Airlines nine years ago, he worked for Sabre Corp, a provider of reservation systems to airlines and travel agencies, as vice president and general manager for the Asia Pacific area.
He worked for American Airlines for 15 years in a variety of positions before that.
